Abstract: This paper aims to empower cardiovascular researchers by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEANDI) principles throughout the research cycle. It defines DEANDI, introduces practical strategies for implementation in recruitment, retention, and team dynamics within cardiovascular research. Evidence-based approaches supporting underrepresented populations' participation are outlined for each research phase. Emphasising the significance of inclusive research environments, the paper offers guidance and resources. We invite cardiovascular researchers to actively embrace DEANDI principles, enhancing research relevance and addressing longstanding cardiovascular health disparities.
